Rohos Mini Drive 3.0

Password-protect USB flash drives by creating a hidden and encrypted partition

Rohos Mini Drive allows you to carry sensitive information on your USB drive without much danger of its being accessed by unauthorized people. What it does is to create an encrypted partition on your portable storage device. Luckily, it supports practically any type of USB storage device.

The application is very easy to use, even by those without much experience. Fortunately, there is a wizard that leads you through the steps necessary to create a protected partition, such as setting its size, the file system, and the encryption algorithm. In this respect, it is good news that the program uses the latest encrypting technologies (AES 256 bit) to keep your data secure. Not only that, it even has a virtual keyboard so that your password cannot be stolen using a keylogger.

As other valuable features, the product includes a file manager and the possibility to back up the contents of an encrypted partition to a cloud storage service, such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. In addition, it lets you “encrypt” a specific application so that it can only be used when the virtual disk is inserted in the computer. Finally, you would be glad to hear that you do not need to install the application on every computer from which you want to access the protected disk because the necessary executable file is automatically copied to the USB drive.

All in all, Rohos Mini Drive is an excellent choice when you carry important information on your portable drive. However, although it can protect your data from being stolen, the tool cannot prevent their being deleted by formatting the drive. It is a product that I definitely advise you to try. After all, it is absolutely free to use.
